"Toxins in the Blood: Understanding the Role of Toxemia in Disease"

Toxins

As Dr. John H. Tilden has said, "toxemia" refers to the basic notion that an imbalance between the production of new cells (anabolism) and the breakdown of existing ones (catabolism) can result in the accumulation of toxins in the body and cause health crises, which we often refer to as "disease."

The idea is that the body effectively gets rid of these poisons during regular metabolism, keeping the blood pure and the body operating as it should. Nevertheless, the removal process is interfered with when the body is weak or depleted, as a result of physical or mental stress or bad habits, which causes a build-up of toxins. This build-up leads to a crisis, or what is usually understood to be an illness.

Exogenous and endogenous are the two primary sources of poisons, according to Tilden. Exogenous toxins are produced in the alimentary canal as a consequence of poor digestion, which frequently happens when food ferments and decomposes.

These toxins are generally less harmful but nonetheless annoying and debilitating when they come from plant-based foods like fruits or vegetables. By contrast, they can be far more dangerous and pose a bigger threat to organic life when they result from the putrefaction of nitrogenous, protein-containing foods, particularly those derived from animals.

Exogenous

Endogenous toxins are substances that the body produces on its own as waste products from metabolism. This can happen when the body accumulates toxins internally due to ineffective waste product removal.

According to Tilden's idea, the body uses "disease" as a means of dealing with toxic buildup. The body goes into "crisis" mode to rid itself of extra poisons. Fever, inflammation, or other symptoms normally associated with disease could be the manifestation of this crisis. Tilden says the secret to curing the problem is to find and eliminate what's causing the body to become weakened or enervated so it can resume normal function and continue to discharge pollutants.

This view is consistent with certain naturopathic and holistic approaches to health that highlight the body's inherent healing abilities and concentrate on finding and eliminating the root causes of sickness as opposed to only treating its symptoms.

It emphasizes how crucial it is to have a well-balanced lifestyle, control stress, and form healthful habits in order to support the body's normal metabolic processes and avoid the accumulation of toxins that can cause disease.
